Merredin Railway Institute Tennis Club is the smaller of Merredin's two tennis clubs, historically connected to the railway workers and institute associated with the Great Eastern Railway that passes through town. The club has 4 floodlit hard courts and maintains a separate competition identity from the Merredin District Lawn Tennis Club, reflecting the tradition of railway institute sporting clubs that were once common across WA's rail network towns. It competes in the Central Wheatbelt district tennis competition.
