Introducing Gifting: Send a Friend XP or a Card, Just Because
XP on RallyHub is earned, not bought, which makes giving some away genuinely generous. Gifting lets you hand a friend XP or an item straight from your balance. Friends only, no fees, no catch.
By Two brothers in Melbourne, co-founder of RallyHub.
XP on RallyHub is earned, not bought. You get it by playing matches, recording results, keeping streaks, and showing up. That makes it worth something, and it makes giving some away a genuinely generous thing to do. So we added the simplest social gesture we could: gifting. Send a friend some of your hard-earned XP, or a card from your collection, just because.
What it is
Gifting lets you hand a friend XP or an item straight from your own balance. A mate just joined and is starting from zero? Give them a leg up. Someone had a rough week, or won their first match, or helped you out with a hit? Drop a little XP on them to say nice one. It is small, it is warm, and it costs you something real, which is exactly what makes it mean something.
How it works
- Open the menu on a friend's Courtside post, or head to their profile, and choose to send a gift.
- Pick what to send: an amount of XP from your balance, or a card or item from your collection.
- The gift moves across instantly, comes out of your balance, and the friend is notified that it came from you.
There is no fee skimmed off the top and no catch. What you send is what they get.
Friends only, on purpose
You can only gift to people you are actually friends with on RallyHub. That keeps gifting personal and shuts the door on spam, begging, and the kind of pestering that ruins this sort of feature elsewhere. It is a gesture between people who know each other, not a public tip jar.
Why we built it
Because the best communities are generous ones, and generosity needs a button. We wanted a way for the everyday kindness that already happens in tennis circles, lending a racket, shouting a coffee, welcoming the new person, to have a little home inside the app. Gifting also quietly reinforces the whole point of the XP economy: it is a real, earned thing with real weight, valuable enough that handing some to a friend actually registers as a kind act.
Where to find it
Gifting lives in the menu on any friend's Courtside post and on their profile. Add a few friends first, then next time one of them does something good on court, send a little XP their way. For more on how XP works in the first place, read our guide to the XP economy.
